Heavens Above has been a strong and consistent performer throughout her entire racing career so far and capped her best preparation to date a close second behind Azkadellia in the Group 1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes (1600m) last autumn.

Martin told AAP that he has been pleased with the condition of the Street Cry mare since she returned to work and is confident that she will put her best foot forward in the Millie Fox Stakes 2017, despite having not trialled.

“She hasn’t had a barrier trial but she’s had a course proper gallop at Rosehill this morning (Tuesday),” Martin said.

“She will obviously improve on what she does on Saturday but it’s a nice race to kick her off in and fits in well with three weeks to the Coolmore Classic.

“She’s entered for the Doncaster and will be nominated for the Queen Of The Turf again.

“All going well I’d like to take her to Brisbane and try her in the Doomben Cup. I think now she is an older mare she’s looking for 2000 metres.

“As a young horse she ran in the Vinery Stud Stakes and Queensland Oaks won by Winx but she didn’t handle the longer trips then.”

Martin confirmed that following her first-up assignment, Heavens Above will first target the Group 1 Coolmore Classic (1500m) on March 11th, and will be partnered by Adam Hyeronimus.

“I’ve booked Adam for both races because she won’t get Tye’s weight in the Coolmore,” Martin said.

“He is a strong rider who is in good form.”

Heavens Above has posted a commendable career total of four wins and nine minors through only nineteen competitive appearances.

The five-year-old has already posted valuable wins at stakes level, having saluted in each of the Group 3 Aspiration Handicap (1600m) and Group 3 Sheraco Stakes (1200m) in 2016.

The 2017 Millie Fox Stakes field and barrier draw is due to be completed and released by midday, Wednesday.
