Successfully defending her title in the Group 2 Breeders’ Classic (1200m) first-up a fortnight ago, talented mare Catkins has opened as and maintained status as outright favourite in 2015 Millie Fox Stakes betting markets with Ladbrokes.com.au, but has interestingly drifted from an initial quote of $1.85 to currently settle at odds of $1.90.

Catkins has been a standout for trainer Chris Waller since first debuting to racing in late 2011, and of course her 2014 Australian racing campaign was no exception.

Progressing to another impressive win in the Group 3 Wiggle Stakes (1400m) following her 2014 Breeders’ Classic triumph, the daughter of Dubawi placed third in the Group 1 Coolmore Classic (1500m); returning to the winner’s circle with ease in the Group 2 Emancipation Stakes (1500m) most notably on April 5th.

Taking out the Group 3 Sheraco Stakes (1200m) upon resuming in spring, Catkins ran on following an early check to finish second in the Group 3 Golden Pendant (1400m) on September 27th before placing third in each of the Group 2 Tristarc Stakes (1400m) and Group 1 Myer Classic (1600m).

A leading chance for success this weekend, punters may find value in adding Catkins as a selection in a 2015 Millie Fox Stakes trifecta or quinella bet.

Avoid Lightning arguably found career-best form over the latter stages of her 2014 racing campaign, and as a result has opened as outright second-favourite for first-up success in 2015 Millie Fox Stakes betting markets at a quote of $3.60.

Posting ten wins and a further six minor place finishes over her 23 start career so far, Avoid Lightning ran fifth in the Group 3 Roy Higgins Tribute (1200m) upon resuming in 2014; progressing to victory in the Group 3 Birthday Card Stakes (1200m) before running second in the Group 2 Sapphire Stakes (1200m) on April 19th.

Securing comfortable victories in back-to-back sprints at Randwick, the Blevic mare displayed a keen turn of foot late to place third in the featured Group 1 Tattersall’s Tiara (1400m) on June 21st.

Having taken out the Group 3 The Nivison (1200m) in her only spring start, Avoid Lightning is a proven performer over track and distance and is more than worth consideration for a Millie Fox Stakes bet.

Lilliburlero ran an agonizingly-close second to Catkins in the Breeders’ Classic first-up, and arguably offers punters the best value for success in 2015 Millie Fox Stakes betting markets at a quote of $4.40 as a result.

Claiming four wins and five minor places over her 20 competitive starts so far, Lillibulero undoubtedly performs at her best early in her racing preparations.

Confirmed to target the Coolmore Classic this time in, trainer David Payne is confident the daughter of Redoute’s Choice is in career-best condition and is confident of a return to the winner’s circle in the 2015 Millie Fox Stakes from barrier 5.
