It is a case of déjà vu in the 2011 Millie Fox Stakes with Montana Flyer coming back to form to win the title for the second year in a row.
It was also the first win for new jockey Tommy Berry at the Gai Waterhouse stable.
It was by no means an easy win with the favourite Graceful Anna far from disgraced at the end of the race.
The two battled it out down the home strait with the final margin only a half-head.
Rounding out the placings was Jersey Lily more than a length further back.
It’s the second time this campaign Graceful Anna has lost out to the Waterhouse stable after she was beaten by More Joyous in the Breeders Classic.
For Berry though it was definitely a win to remember.
“It’s great to get my first stakes win for Gai,” he said.
“I had a slow start but I’m so thankful words cannot explain.
“This horse was never going to get beaten from the 200 (metres). She is just so tough.”
Graceful Anna will either run the Wiggle Handicap this weekend or wait until the Coolmore Classic later in the month.
