Nominations For 2010 Millie Fox Stakes

February 22nd, 2010

One of eight races to take place on Saturday at the Rosehill Gardens Racecourse, the 2010 Millie Fox Stakes nominations have been released, and 14 contenders look set to provide a quality line-up.

Drawing some top fillies and mares for the 1,300 metre event, the race will see the females battle it out on the track for a share in the $100,000 prize money on offer.

Michael Nolan’s Chakvetadze may well be a contender for the 2010 Millie Fox Stakes having proved herself recently over the middle distance. Her latest win was the EIS Open Handicap (1350m) at Doomben.

Michael Nolan’s Chakvetadze may well be a contender for the 2010 Millie Fox Stakes.

Montana Flyer, trained by the renowned Gai Waterhouse, recently came second in the Group 2 Breeders Classic (1200m). The four-year-old beat two fellow 2010 Millie Fox Stakes nominees; Bejewelled and Strawberry Field, to clinch the second spot.

Last year’s winner of the race, Neroli, is back once again to defend her title. However having not had any strong runs recently, the six-year-old has a lot to prove.

Also taking place on Saturday at the Rosehill Gardens Racecourse will be the Group 2 Silver Slipper Stakes (1100m) and the Group 2 Hobartville Stakes (1400m).
